My home-buying clients often ask about what they should or can do on their own as they look at the homes on the market.
Shopping around is GREAT HOMEWORK for you to see what types of homes are the market, amenities of different subdivisions and what you might pay for condition and location. What you glean from experiencing these options will be a great benefit to you!
So, what about New Builds and Open Houses?
You are always welcome and encouraged to check out the builder Model Homes and talk with their representatives about their products, timelines and inventory, just let them know we are working together, or who your agent is. As I've posted in other blogs, it's always recommended to have your own representation, even with a newly built home, so you will have an expert with negotiations, incentives and someone on your side should anything not go as planned.
Open Houses are another great way to explore the housing market, give you all kinds of decor and design ideas and narrow down locations and features you like!
NOTE: You do NOT need to sign an agreement with the agent at an open house or with a builder to be able to view the house.
